ALL-ON-4® TREATMENT PLAN |
Chicago & River Forest Oral Surgeon, Periodontist & EndodontistCameo Dental Specialists River Forest OfficeHere at Cameo Dental Specialists in River Forest, IL we want all of our patients to enjoy all the benefits of a healthy mouth. In our efforts to give our patients a healthy mouth, we have decided to offer many specialty services in our office, which means that you don’t have to go somewhere else to receive specialty services. This means you don’t have to call a different office, set up billing elsewhere, or deal with specialists whom you can’t meet here at our office. A few of the specialties that we offer are periodontics, oral surgery, and endodontics. EndodonticsEndodontists are dentists who specialize in techniques that are meant to save badly damaged teeth. Root canals are an endodontists main specialty, but they also are the only specialty to perform root canal retreatments when a root canal fails. Finally, endodontists are quite skilled at tooth extraction, whether it’s a simple or surgical extraction. A root canal becomes necessary when a tooth experiences physical trauma that damages the pulp, or deep infection from a cavity. Endodontists will remove the damaged portions of the tooth and replace it with an inert material, finishing the tooth permanently with a crown. Sometimes a filling will be used to finish a root canal depending on how much of the original tooth is left after the procedure. There was once a time when people worried about root canals because they hurt but today they are a completely painless procedure. We have sedation options like nitrous oxide and IV sedation that will help you to feel calm and comfortable throughout the entire procedure. PeriodonticsPeriodontics is a dental specialty that concerns itself with the supporting structures of the teeth, namely the gums. Many people don’t realize how important the gums are to a happy, healthy mouth – we are here to tell you, they are very important! The gums aren’t the only thing that periodontists are concerned with; the cementum, periodontal ligaments, dental implant placement, and alveolar bone are also within their wheelhouse. Periodontal disease is one of the leading causes of tooth loss, which is why it’s important that you come in for regular cleanings and examinations at least twice a year. The early stages of gum disease (periodontal disease) can be reversed, but if you let it go untreated for too long, it will enter the late stages and become irreversible. For those suffering from late-stage periodontal disease, we offer scaling and root planing treatments, which do a great job of lessening the effects of periodontal disease. Our periodontists also offer gingival recession treatment and tissue grafts to those who have experienced significant tissue loss due to periodontal disease. Oral SurgeryOral surgeons are dentists who have significant medical training in a hospital-based residency program for surgeons. Oral surgeons are highly trained in the application of anesthesia, emergency medicine. Interestingly, oral surgeons are the only medical professionals other than anesthesiologist that can apply all levels of general anesthesia. Their main treatment focus is on the face, jaw, and mouth. Oral surgeons can perform many different surgical services, including but not limited to:
Oral surgeons also place large dental implant retained tooth replacement solutions like All-on-4 Treatment Concept. The All-on-4 treatment option gives our edentulous patients a new chance at eating and speaking exactly as they did before tooth loss. |
