 According to the American Dental Association (ADA) oral and maxillofacial surgery is one of nine dentistry specialties. Our specialty focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects of the face, mouth, teeth, and jaw. We work with other dental specialists such as general dentists, orthodontists, and physicians to treat patients that require our expertise. In addition, we have spent at least four-years training in an accredited, oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
