What Oral Surgeons Like Us Specialize In

What Oral Surgeons Like Us Specialize InAccording to the American Dental Association (ADA) oral and maxillofacial surgery is one of nine dentistry specialties.

Our specialty focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects of the face, mouth, teeth, and jaw. We work with other dental specialists such as general dentists, orthodontists, and physicians to treat patients that require our expertise.

When you are referred to our office it is because you need an expert in that area. We can treat many conditions from a tooth extraction to jaw surgery.

Oral Surgeries we Can Perform in Our Office

Our team of oral surgeons has years of experience and have treated countless patients successfully. Some of the most common oral surgeries we can perform in our office or a similar hospital environment are:

•  Tooth extractions for patients of any age, including wisdom teeth surgery,
•  Root canals that cannot be completed successfully by a general dentist,
•  Dental grafts where dental tissue is stitched to exposed teeth,
•  Implant placement and follow through treatment,
•  Cleft lip and palate surgery,
•  TMD surgery,
•  Reconstructive facial surgery after trauma,
•  Cosmetic surgery to the jaw, and facial bone or tissue,
•  Obstructive sleep apnea surgery to clear upper airway.

How Many Years of School Do Oral Surgeons Receive?

Our oral surgeons are graduates from accredited dental schools and have earned a license to practice in the state. In addition, we have spent at least four-years training in an accredited, oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program. We can treat patients in our office or a hospital setting when the case is more complex.

Our surgeons are trained professionals that can diagnose and treat most any dental condition a patient has. When you are referred to our office for treatment, we offer you a consultation to explain the suggested plan for your case.

At this time, we would be happy to answer any questions you have about our surgeons or the procedure.
