![]() When you come in to see us, sometimes you will see us looking at an old set of x-rays and comparing them to a new set of x-rays. We do this for several reasons. First, we want to see if anything changed since the last time you were in our office.
Second, we want to look for anything that may be new since the last time you saw us. Finally, we want to check and see if everything is the same size and shape since the last time you were here. X-rays Tell Us a LotThere are lots of things that we can learn by looking at your x-rays. When you come in and see us every six months like you are supposed to, we can keep a close eye on even small changes that happen in your mouth. We normally do x-rays every year, so we have a record of what your mouth looked like and how it has changed. When we have numerous sets of x-rays to look at, we can see any teeth that have shifted, potentially pointing us to a problem. The more we can see inside your mouth through consistent x-rays, the earlier we are normally able to diagnose a problem and treat it. We ask that you come in to see us every six months so we can keep your teeth healthy and clean. We also want to make sure that you get x-rays taken every year. This allows us to keep on top of your oral health in a better way than simply looking around your mouth during exams and cleanings. For more information about what x-rays can tell us, call our office. We can then schedule a time for you to come in, and let you know what we all find on the x-rays that we take of your mouth. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at (630) 425-4488 today. |
